At yesterday’s Townhall meeting Clubhouse founders, Paul Davison and Rohan Seth announced that they are launching the app’s first accelerator program, called Clubhouse Creator First. 🚀🚀

The program is designed to help aspiring creators on Clubhouse host amazing conversations, build their audience, and monetize.

In order to apply, you need to fill out a short form in which you give your personal data, which platform do you create content, what is your reach, what kind of content do you create. You also need to upload sample audio of your content and you can attach other kinds of files.

Based on this application they will select 20 candidates to whom they will provide financial and other support. Founders said that financial support can happen in the form of a branding deal or money (around 5000 dollars).🤑

Also, the chosen candidates will receive various forms of support such as mentorship, training, booking guests, equipment, recording features, audience feedback, show promotion, and monetization.

It is important to highlight that they are interested in creators at all ranges of reach (yes, even minimal), so you don’t need to have thousands or millions of followers to apply, only a good idea. 😎

Although the program is not restricted only to English speakers, it is not clear if you upload an audio sample in a foreign language they have the resources to translate/understand your content.

At the Townhall meeting, the founders mentioned that they are working on different monetization strategies that will be introduced soon. They highlighted that and neither selling data nor advertising is not an option at the moment to generate revenue. Co-founder Paul Davison said:

“The goal is to create a platform that is creator-centric, allowing Clubhouse users to make money directly from the platform”.

Although the exact strategy is still unknown, this clearly shows a direction towards certain monetization forms that reward creators (such as subscription clubs, tickets to enter rooms, private clubs etc). This is a huge incentive for podcast hosts, Youtubers, influencers, and basically anybody who creates interesting content to sign up on the platform, host rooms, and make an income.

Although the platform gained significant momentum during the last couple of weeks (especially when Elon Musk joined for a conversation), and various clubs are being created each day, there is still ample room to find one’s niche, especially in non-English speaking communities.

If you feel like you have something valuable that worth sharing with the world, don’t hesitate to sign up for the program and for the app itself. Opportunities like that present themselves once in a decade, so you might as well harness it!💸💸

✅ Lifehack #1: If you haven’t received a Clubhouse invite yet, try this Clubhouse invite group on Telegram. I haven’t tested it but it is worth a shot if you don’t know anybody who is on the app.

✅ Lifehack #2: If you don’t have iOS, you can download a non-official version for Android here (it was reverse engineered by a Russian software engineer). It will allow you to register (you still need an invite) and join rooms and listen to conversations. (the app is a bit buggy but worth trying).
